Nautical Styled Wedding
Do you remenber the Steampunk Styled shoot I have posted on the blog at the start of the year? Well, I am back with the same team for a new styled shoot – a Nautical Wedding. Plume a Plume brought the romantic stationary, Doucefleur Design the accessories and the bouquets and Au fil de la lune for the rockabilly wedding dress.
We wanted to be far away from the clichés associated with nautical weddings, like the navy colour, and it started with the use of an unexpected colour palette for this styled shoot: Cayenne/Coral, Grey and Sand. To complete that palette, we also made the choice of using symbols of the sea side (starfish, shells, sea urchin, rope,…).
The result: a fresh and punchy inspiration with a hint of vintage for future brides and grooms who would love to get married at the beach!!! The shoot took place on the beach in Sheerness, Kent, on a sunny and quiet Sunday morning. We wanted 2 different atmospheres: a first set with a more ceremonial/formal attitude (the veil, accessories with soft colours,…) to remind the tension couples feel before saying “I Do”.
This board was associated with formal aspects of a wedding: escort cards and the reception table. Then a second set, more relax and punchy, with bright colours and a loose hairstyle. The poster, the cakes and the cocktail dispenser recalled the celebration side of the Bid Day.
To complete the team and make the styled shoot successful, we needed other talents. – Retromorphosist for the hair and make up who is specialised in vintage style, and gave our bride the perfect look to match the dress, – Poshpud for the cakes, who designed 3 amazing cakes, working with our colour palette and inspiration, to perfectly match our theme (rope, shells, pearls,…) – Amanda Li Hope with her Asteroid engagement ring created using Fairtrade gold, – Bow & Tie London for the bow tie, to complete our groom’s look, trendy but relaxed. Once again I tried to make this shoot look as natural as possible and having friends as models was pretty sweet! And once again we have been lucky with the weather…a nice day at the sea! Oh and we have been published on this fantastic blog, Dotty Vintage Weddings.
Anyway, enjoy the photos!!!!
A special Thanks to the couple, some very good friends who accepted to play Bride and Groom!!!
